As a writing tutor at DePaul, I firmly believe that I possess the vital interpersonal relationship skills that can greatly assist me in my quest to become an AUSL teacher. One of the key elements that I was exposed to during my tutoring career was to harness the growth of ELL students. As an ELL student myself, I once again realized the tribulations that ELL students had to deal with. Hence, it was a formidable experience for me to assist them through their development of acquiring proficiency in English. Without a doubt, I learned that as a teacher, it was important to account for the differences in learning styles that are prevalent between students. I feel that the role of the teacher is to act as a facilitator, paving the channels of knowledge, nurture, and creating an environment of collaboration that can truly create an aura of formidable experience for a student.
